Celebrating National Wetlands Day in Our Environmental Club
Learning About Wetlands and Protecting Our Planet
Last week in our Environmental Club, we celebrated National Wetlands Day. We talked about what wetlands are and why they are very important for our world and environment. We learned that wetlands are places where land and water meet. They can be swamps, marshes, or ponds.
Wetlands are important because they help clean the water and protect the land from floods. They are also home to many animals, such as frogs, ducks, fish, turtles, birds, and insects. We discussed how these animals depend on wetlands to live and grow.
After our discussion, we made a creative art project. We painted beautiful wetland pictures with water, plants, and sky. Then, each of us made a small 3D clay animal and added it to our painting. The artwork looked colorful and full of life.
We enjoyed learning about wetlands and understood why we must protect them. It was a fun and meaningful activity for everyone.
