From Silver to Selection: Emilia(Year 10) Earns Her Place on the European Stage

Spread the love

The past few weeks have marked a defining moment in Emilia Pishchulina’s (year 10) first Senior season—one where progress turned into recognition, and potential translated into opportunity.

At the Slovak National Championship, held as a joint event with the Czech Republic in Brno (May 1–2), Emilia delivered when it mattered

most.

Competing against the country’s top gymnasts, she secured 2nd place in Slovakia, confirming her position among the nation’s leading Senior gymnasts.

But the significance of this competition went far beyond the podium.

A Performance That Opened the Door

National Championships are not just about titles—they are selection moments. Every routine is evaluated not only for score, but for readiness: the ability to represent the country on a much larger stage.

For Emilia, still in her first year competing at this level, the challenge was clear:

  • Prove consistency across routines
  • Show confidence under pressure
  • Demonstrate she can compete alongside—and against—the best

She did exactly that.

Her performance in Brno was consistent, competitive, and, most i

mportantly, convincing.

The Next Step: European Championships

Following her result, Emilia has been selected to represent Slovakia at the European Championships in Varna, Bulgaria (May 27–31).

This is a major milestone.

The European Championships bring together the continent’s elite—athletes who have spent years building toward this level. For many gymnasts, it’s a defining stage in their careers. For Emilia, it’s something even more unique: an early arrival.

In just her first Senior season, she is stepping into one of the sport’s biggest arenas.

More Than a Result

For those following Emilia’s journey, this moment captures exactly what this season is  about.

Not perfection.
Not finished performances.
But progress that leads somewhere real.

A few weeks ago, she was narrowly missed podium placements by fractions. Now, she stands as one of Slovakia’s top competitors—and a European Championship representative.

That shift doesn’t happen by chance. It comes from:

  • Building experience competition by competition
  • Learning quickly from each performance
  • Growing into the demands of Senior-level gymnastics

What Comes Next

The focus now turns to preparation.photo by: Viacheslav Shambazov

Between now and Varna, every training session will be about refinement—cleaner execution, stronger confidence, and routines that can stand up on an international stage.

The level will rise again. The expectations will be higher. The margins will be even tighter.

But that’s exactly where this journey is meant to go.  Remember, she’s just a “rookie.”

For Emilia, the path is accelerating.
For those watching, the story is just getting more interesting.
