Our Earth Day Environmental Project
Last week, we all celebrated Earth Day. During the environmental club, we spoke about the importance of the Earth and how we as people treat our planet. We discussed how our daily actions can have both positive and negative effects on the environment, and the children shared their own ideas about how to take better care of nature. We also talked about simple ways we can help, such as reducing waste, recycling, saving water, and protecting animals and their habitats.
During the club, the children had a chance to choose a mosaic of an endangered animal of their choice. They carefully built their animals using 3D-looking sticker shapes, which helped bring their creations to life. After that, they placed their work on A3 hard paper and painted the animals’ natural, healthy habitats around them. The activity encouraged them to think about where these animals live and what they need in order to survive.
As they worked, we discussed why these animals are endangered and what threatens their survival, such as pollution, deforestation, and climate change. The children showed great creativity and enthusiasm, and they were proud of their final artwork. Through this hands-on activity, they not only developed their artistic skills but also deepened their understanding of environmental responsibility.
It was a meaningful and enjoyable experience that helped the children connect creativity with learning, and it inspired them to think about how they can make a positive difference for our planet.
