EISB ‘Readathon’ for Charity!
This year at EISB we will be doing a book reading fundraiser to raise money to help buy books and build a library at a primary school in Kilimanjaro, Tanzania (you can read more about the charity, Kilimanjaro Direct, here).
So, how does it work?
The students will look for friends and family members to sponsor them for each book they read across the school year (each book should be a minimum of 150 pages for academy students). For example, you may donate 5 EUR for each book the student reads across the school year.
Why are we doing this?
β’ To give our students the experience of donating to charity and helping less fortunate
students who do not have access to books
β’ To support and further educate students living in a highly impoverished part of Tanzania
β’ To encourage EISB students to read more!
Where is the money going?
βKilimanjaro Direct (KD) is a charity that has built 10 houses and a primary school in the foothills of Kilimanjaro, Tanzania. Our school is run on donations alone. KD provides food and education for 125 impoverished children. The ethos of the charity is that 100% of ALL donations go directly to the running of the school and not 1 cent is taken for expenses or administration fees. Everybody involved in the charity pays their own expenses and raise much needed funds to keep the school going purely out of the goodness of their hearts. Please join us on our journey to provide children with the basic human rights of good food and education by becoming a patron of our school.β

How do I donate?
Your donations will be collected online through Donorbox, a trusted nonprofit fundraising software. Your donations will go directly to the charity, Kilimanjaro Direct. The link to donate via Donorbox will be provided soon to everyone who decides to be a sponsor. Eventually the link to donate will also be included here on this blogpost.
We ask that donations be made at three occasions across the school year:
Friday, December 17th 2021 / Friday, March 25th 2022 / Friday, June 3rd 2022
