Earth Day with Year 3 – Small Actions, Big Impact.

Spread the love

This Earth Day, our Year 3 students showed that even small hands can make a big difference.

We took our learning outside for a special PE outdoor activity, heading to a small park near the school. Armed with gloves, bags, and lots of energy, the children worked together to clean the area, picking up litter and helping to make the space safer and more beautiful for everyone.

And they didn’t stop there…

🌱 A tree for the future

After all the hard work, we planted a tree together — a simple but powerful reminder of what we can do when we care for our planet. The children loved getting involved, and for many of them, it was their first time planting something that will grow for years to come.

We talked about why trees matter — how they give us oxygen, provide homes for animals, and help keep our environment healthy. Now, every time we pass that spot, we’ll remember: we helped the planet right here.

💡 What did the children learn?

This experience wasn’t just about cleaning — it was about understanding responsibility and teamwork:

  • Caring for the environment
  • Working together as a team
  • Respecting shared spaces
  • Taking pride in helping the community

🍬 A well-deserved treat

Of course, after all that effort, a little reward was needed! The children enjoyed some sweet treats as a celebration of their hard work — and let’s be honest, it made the smiles even bigger 😄

⭐ Proud moment

Year 3 were truly amazing. Their energy, teamwork, and positive attitude made this day special. They showed kindness not just to each other, but to the world around them.

A cleaner park, a new tree, and a group of children who now know they can make a difference — that’s a pretty great Earth Day.
