Twelfth-grade students planted trees in Koliba
At the end of March, 15 twelfth-grade students participated in a tree-planting event in Koliba, where there were diseased and cut down spruce trees. First, we had to clear a large area of land of cut down trees to make room for the planting. The students worked enthusiastically, and within two hours, everything was done. Here’s what the students themselves had to say about the event.
Alfie – Overall I really enjoyed the tree planting trip despite the weather not being great. At first when we saw all the logs and sticks we had to move I thought it would take at least 4 hours of hard work from all of us, but it turned out that we did it in half of that time. It was tiring but felt good in the end. Afterwards, we went back to the camp and enjoyed some marshmallows, sausages and ribs around the campfire. And then we went back to the school. I think it was a fun experience that we’ll be able to look back on in the future.
Alexandra – Our whole class went to plant trees this Monday .The weather was a bit cold , and I had a lot of fun especially working with my friends . After the tree planting we had a opekačka we made a fire and had špekáčiky , we also tried to make s’mores . Overall it was a fun trip .
