🏺 The Joy of Clay: A Memorable Summer Camp Experience 🪴

🪴 Hands in Clay, Hearts Full of Creativity 🤎

Last week, our Summer Camp children enjoyed a wonderful visit from the Pottery Club, giving them the opportunity to explore the world of clay through hands-on play and creativity.

For many of the children, it was their very first experience working with clay. They eagerly squeezed, rolled, pressed, and shaped it with great curiosity and enthusiasm. Some created small pots and imaginative sculptures, while others simply enjoyed exploring the texture and feel of the clay—and every approach was equally valuable.

The activity connected beautifully with our Nature Explorers Week and our story, The Three Little Pigs. We talked about how clay is a natural material found in the earth and how people have used materials from nature to create useful and beautiful objects for centuries. This linked perfectly to the story, where the three little pigs used different natural materials to build their homes.

The session was calm, engaging, and full of focused exploration. It was wonderful to see the children trying something new, expressing their creativity, and building confidence through the process rather than concentrating on the finished product.

It was a simple yet meaningful experience that encouraged curiosity, creativity, and a deeper appreciation of the natural world. We are very grateful to the Miss Maryska for sharing this special activity with our Summer Camp children.
