EISB students take the annual First Aid training

 

In the framework of the PYP transdisciplinary theme *Who We Are*, which promotes the integral development of physical, emotional, and spiritual health, EISB primary students recently participated in a first aid training. This program was designed to equip students with the necessary tools to identify dangerous situations and know how to act in response.

During the training, students learned the emergency numbers in Slovakia (112, 150, 155, 158) and how to respond to potentially dangerous situations. From Year 1 to Year 3, students received practical training focused on key actions such as responding to choking incidents in both adults and children, and performing CPR.

    

Students from Year 4 to Year 6 acquired both theoretical knowledge and essential practical skills. In addition to the previously mentioned abilities, they also learned how to correctly administer an EpiPen, a vital tool in emergency situations related to severe allergic reactions.

At the end of the training, the students reflected on what they had learned, what they enjoyed most, and expressed their interest in future trainings. This activity aligns with the PYP learner profile, particularly the *Reflective* attribute, as students were able to assess their learning and set new goals.
