Fun Learning and Friendship Building: Our German Club Experience

At our school, we believe that when children play, have fun, and compete, learning becomes easier and more natural. This philosophy is at the heart of our German club, which meets every Tuesday afternoon.

In the German club, students engage with the language through various activities. One of the highlights is Blooket, an online platform where some of the games are created by the students themselves, with older students often designing them for the younger ones. Blooket turns learning into a game, allowing children to compete in educational quizzes that make vocabulary and grammar fun and interactive.

We also use board games and flashcards to reinforce new words and phrases in an enjoyable way. Additionally, a special German language book with a talking pen helps students with pronunciation, making learning more dynamic and interactive.

What I find particularly exciting is the composition of this club. Members range from Year 1 to Year 6, including students from Miss Liana’s class and mine. There are even students from the Spanish class who enjoy learning German. Our math teacher, Miss Farnoush, joined and became partners with Anna from Year 1. This mutual learning, helping each other, and forming friendships might be even more valuable than the German vocabulary itself.

By incorporating games, interactive tools, and innovative resources, we ensure that our students learn effectively while enjoying the process. Through the German club, we foster a love for the language and a positive attitude towards learning, proving that education can be both fun and enriching.
