Young MacGyver’s of Year 5 demonstrate scientific approaches to problem-solving
Year 5 dazzled visitors at the Open House with not only a knowledge of scientific facts, but the application of science to solve real-world problems.
They were challenged to use all of the material science they had covered to separate a complicated mixture of materials.
They went beyond a simple description of HOW to separate the materials by saying WHY their method would work, based on their understanding of the physics principles involved.
