Mythology in MYP 1

The main focus of our MYP 1 students at the beginning of the school year was the beginning of the literature itself. Through perspectives of various civilizations students tried to find the intertextual similarities between mythology of different cultures. The ability to recognize these similarities can help us in understanding of the world which our ancestors lived in. Through Norse and mostly Greek mythology, we are able to recognize the importance of our common cultural background. Once our students knew the basic characteristics of a myth, they were able to write their own mythological stories as they have let their creativity flow.
