SVETLANA – MYP/DP Science & Math

Hi, my name is Svetlana Drozda.

This autumn 2020 I am starting to work at the EISB as a MYP teacher of Science, Math and DP teacher of Biology.

 I am from Russia, where I taught Biology and Nature for over 20 years.

I received a higher biological education in Belarus, at the Grodno State University.

Together with students, their parents, teachers, we have achieved a lot. During this time, about 350 students were prepared for successful admission to State Medical Universities, 42 of them were winners of the Olympiad in Biology and Medicine, organized by St. Petersburg State University of Russia. I am a finalist of the All-Russian competition “Teacher of the Year of Russia – 2014”, the absolute winner of the republican competition “Teacher of the Year of Bashkortostan – 2014”, Laureate of the Prize of the President of the Russian Federation, Winner of the competition for the best teachers of the Russia.

Why am I here? My husband is Slovak and we live in Bratislava. The time for a change has come.

Am I a warrior? Who knows…

For me, life is a big theater, in which we are all not only artists, but also directors of our performances. The quality of this game depends only on us. We choose our roles and we paint our lives in various colors.

We set our goals and look for new ways to find peace and happiness in our minds, in our hearts. The Danes call this state “Hygge”. What could be more important than seeing happy, calm people around us?

The EISB is a new challenge for me. This is another opportunity to get out of my comfort zone and start writing with YOU a new page not only in my life, but also OURS.
