Halloween Week: Creativity, Collaboration and a Little Spooky Fun!

Spread the love

Halloween Week brought excitement, creativity, and a little spooky magic to our school! It was a wonderful opportunity for students to step outside their usual classroom routines, work together, and showcase their imagination through a range of Halloween-themed activities.

One of the biggest highlights was seeing students collaborate to create their own Halloween escape rooms. Working in teams, they developed puzzles, clues, and challenges designed to test the problem-solving skills of their fellow students. The activities encouraged critical thinking, communication, teamwork, and creativity, as everyone worked together to solve the mysteries and find their way out.

The school also came alive with spooky haunted houses, carefully prepared by students who put considerable effort into creating frightening decorations, mysterious settings, and unexpected surprises. From the atmosphere to the little details, their creativity and teamwork made the experience exciting for everyone who dared to enter!

For those who preferred a slightly less frightening experience, Halloween movies provided another opportunity to relax and enjoy the celebrations together. The movie sessions, laughter, spooky stories, and shared experiences added to the wonderful atmosphere throughout the week.

As a Mathematics teacher, I particularly enjoyed seeing students apply skills that are just as important beyond mathematics: logical reasoning, problem-solving, planning, and working effectively with others. Designing escape rooms, organising haunted houses, and coordinating activities required students to think creatively, communicate ideas, and take responsibility for bringing their plans to life.

Halloween Week was a great reminder that learning does not always have to happen through textbooks and traditional lessons. Sometimes, the most meaningful learning happens when students are given the freedom to create, experiment, collaborate, and have fun.

A big congratulations to all the students and staff who contributed to making the week such a memorable experience. From solving mysterious puzzles to exploring haunted houses, it was certainly a week filled with creativity, teamwork, and unforgettable memories!
