Spread the love

On October 15, our school turned into a Bavarian festival. Blue-and-white checkered bunting hung from the walls, and everyone arrived with curiosity, appetite, and their best Oktoberfest mood. The celebration began at Reception, where students picked up the event map and set off to explore the different stations around the building.

The Music Room filled with traditional tunes and folk-dance fun, while the Food Station and the Canteen kept everyone happily fed. Giant soft pretzels disappeared quickly, and the Canteen served a hearty plate of sausages with creamy mashed potatoes, just like at a real Oktoberfest table. Nobody left hungry.

The Gym was the place for friendly competition. One half hosted a lively round of Blooket, and the other half was home to the Y11 Quizzes, which tested everyone’s knowledge of German culture, language, and traditions. Meanwhile, the Lab offered crafting and presentations, with gingerbread-heart designs among the highlights, and the Chill Room gave students a relaxed spot to take photos and collect memories. Outside, the Fast Waiter challenge had participants hurrying along with drinks in hand, which turned out to be a fun test of balance and concentration.

In just under an hour, we packed in music, food, games, crafts, and plenty of laughter. A big thank you goes to everyone who helped organize the event, from the Year 11 quiz masters to the teachers and students who decorated, cooked, and ran the stations.

Until next year: Prost! πŸ₯¨πŸŽ‰
