Year 2 Students Explore “Where We Are in Place and Time”

Spread the love

As part of our Where We Are in Place and Time unit, our Year 2 students have learned all about artefacts and historical events, and how objects from the past can help us understand how people lived long ago.

For their final project, the children became both historians and creators! Using clay and old-style paper, they designed and made their very own artefacts. Each artefact was unique, showing their imagination and curiosity about life in different times.

Alongside their creations, students wrote a short piece explaining:

  • What their artefact is

  • How old it is

  • What it is made of

We have been amazed by their creativity, attention to detail, and thoughtful writing. From ancient tools to mysterious objects with interesting stories, their work truly brought history to life. To share their learning, we turned our hallway into a Primary Museum! We are so proud of the effort and imagination our students have shown throughout this unit!
