Anatomy in art

For an artist, it is absolutely crucial to have understanding of the fundamentals of anatomy, whether your subject of matter is an animal, or a human. In MYP4/Gr9, the students are tasked with practicing drawing skeletons, people, animals, portraits, etc. It all comes together in the final summative artwork, which consists of at least 3 details of bones, each done in a different medium. All of this, is then placed on a background made out of unconventional materials, such as cardboard, glass, or even a plaster slab taken from a wall.

This unit is trully the moment when each student gets to express themselves in any way, as long as they meet the criteria.

There are no two artworks that are similar, and I believe that the class was very successful in this task.
