Clean Up Motivation

Primary is on cleanup alert in the cloakroom. The stakes are big. The winning group could each win a non-uniform day.

As pictures show, students CAN keep their own space clean and tidy, so let’s hold them to this, here and at home. With the right motivation, people are capable of wonders. Motivation can come in many different forms. For a more successful motivation experience try the following:

• Set the goal together with the child. Goals need to be broken down into easy, short and achievable parts. Making this visible with a chart or pictures helps.
• Help find a passion or interest driving the motivation.
• Encourage independent thinking – what ideas do they have to attain the goal?
• Do not hover, take a step back and allow for time to show progress.
