Year 2 Trip to Červený Kameň

On November 18, Year 2 went on a class trip to Red Stone Castle (Červený Kameň). We travelled by bus and were very excited when we saw the castle on top of the hill. It looked just like a real fairy-tale castle!

During our tour, we explored old artefacts, which connect to our Unit of Inquiry. We saw old paintings, furniture, weapons, and equipment that people used a long time ago. We learned that the castle was built using the red stone found in the underground cellar, and we even went down to see it ourselves. The students were very curious and asked lots of questions about the castle’s history and how people lived long ago.

We also had lunch at the castle and enjoyed some time outside in the courtyard. It was a fun and educational day, during which we learned a great deal about life in the past while exploring, asking questions, and imagining what it was like to live in a real castle.
