Scavenger Hunt in the Downtown of Bratislava
Yesterday was September 1st, the first day of the new school year. We decided to organize a Scavenger Hunt for our Year 12 and Year 13 students. We split them into 6 groups of 5, gave them a list of tasks and headed to the bus stop. 30 minutes later we were in the Old Town and the Scavenger Hunt began.

There were two types of tasks:
I. Take a photo ofโฆ
โฆhow far is it to London, according to the zero kilometer at St Michaelโs Gate?
โฆa street performer. Extra bonus point if you manage to take a photo of your group with the street performer.
โฆyour group at the fountain in Hviezdoslavovo Squareโฆan extra bonus point for each member whose feet fit in the fountain in the photo.
โฆyour group watering a flower or tree in the city.
โฆyour group eating gelato ice cream from the gelateria of your choice.
โฆwith a person in yellow
โฆwith a dog in the backgroundโฆan extra bonus point if the dog is in the foreground and you are petting it.
โฆwith a statue. The points are doubled if it is a living statue.
II. Take a video of โฆ
โฆyour group dancing around the fountain on the Main Squareโฆan extra bonus point for each stranger you can convince to join you.
โฆteach a foreigner to say โWe love Bratislavaโ in Slovak and record him saying it with your group. an extra bonus point for each additional foreigner who appears in the video.
โฆask a foreigner to sing any song in their native languageโฆan extra bonus point if your group takes part in this performance.
โฆfind your class teachers walking around the old townโฆthey will tell you what to do.

The students were full of enthusiasm and positivity. They boldly approached strangers and offered them some tasks to complete. It wasn’t that easy. Some strangers refused to communicate and join the game. Our students used all their creativity to achieve a good result and complete the tasks.

We had a great time together. For our students, it was a good socialization experience . It was a pleasure for us, teachers, to watch their creativity. As the students reported today, they returned home yesterday full of new impressions and experiences.
