PHE Year-in-Review: Swimming – Upper Primary

Spread the love

Here at EISB, Physical Health and Education is an important part of our students’ personal development. One of my goals as the PHE Teacher/Coordinator is to introduce our students to a variety of different sports. In this end of the year series, we take a look back at some of the different activities various classes have experienced over the 2025-26 school year.

After a two-year hiatus, we decided to get our Upper Primary students back in the pool this year and took them to an indoor facility in Karlova Ves for a six-week swimming unit. With plenty of coaches, we were able to meet the needs of all of the Y4,Y5, and Y6 students, from beginners just testing the water for the first time to advanced swimmers working on speed and technique.

The last day featured various swimming races that were adapted so that everyone could compete, regardless of skill level. The students laughed and had a great time and, in the end, everyone learned something from this unit back in April and May.
