Bringing St. Patrick’s Day to Life in Our Classroom!

St. Patrick’s Day in Our EAL Lessons

In our Year 2 EAL lessons, we had fun learning about St. Patrick’s Day! We started by watching a video about how people around the world celebrate. The children saw how people dress in green, dye their hair or mustache, eat special food, and join big parades in the streets.

Next, we listened to a story about leprechauns. The students learned about his job as a shoemaker, where they hide their gold-at the end of the rainbow, and why they are a big part of St. Patrick’s Day.

After the story, the children got creative! They finger-painted a rainbow, spelling each color as they painted. Then, they made their own leprechaun with Irish symbols.

The best moment was seeing a small pot of gold—it made the day even more special! The children had a great time learning and celebrating in a fun way.
