Capturing Emotions: Year 4’s Creative Photo

In a unique and memorable session, Mr. Slava, our IT technician and a man of many talents—photography included—led our Year 4 students through an exciting exploration of emotions. The students learned how different feelings, from joy to surprise, can be expressed through facial expressions. With each student striking a pose that reflected their chosen emotion, Mr. Slava guided them in understanding how much our faces can communicate without words.

The session didn’t end there. Using his creative skills, Mr. Slava masterfully photoshopped the individual portraits into a single, cohesive group photo, which you can see as the title image of this blog. The final product captures not only their faces but also their emotions, creating a meaningful memento for each student to take home. Scroll below to see behind-the-scenes photos of the creative process!

When I was 8 years old one of my favorite things to do was to visit the market with my grandmother and eat a warm garlicky langoš. Little did I know at that time that it would be another 32 years until I would be at the same place, reminiscing about the beautiful memories of my grandmother while eating this delicacy. I call it the langoš 360. A 360 turn of living, studying and teaching around the world.
