The Three Little Pigs House Building Challenge – Year 1

After reading The Three Little Pigs and discussing why the wolf was able to blow down the straw and stick houses and not the brick house I asked the Year 1 class if they thought they could build stronger houses out of same materials. The children were confident they could, and thus, the House Building Challenge was born!

The kids each built 3 houses using straw, sticks and bricks:

The big bad wolf then tried to blow down the houses:

He was unsuccessful.
