Micro:bit Projects

ICT & Digital Design, MYP 1/2/3

This semester, MYP 1/2/3 students in IT & Digital Design lessons created systems using micro:bit and MakeCode to monitor data for a range of purposes and trigger alarms.

Micro:bit is programmable pocket size computer with built-in sensors that allows students to get hands-on with coding and digital making. MakeCode is a blockly-based code editor used to create simple of complex programs the micro:bit can understand. Visit previous post to find out more about micro:bit.

Their project work was assessed using the four IB MYP Design Assessment criteria:
A – Inquiring and analyzing
B – Developing ideas
C – Creating the solution
D – Evaluating

Congratulations to Kevin Wong (MYP3), Richard Kužela (MYP2) and Valentin Dotsenko (MYP1) who produced functioning systems, with complete project reports.

This project was followed and extended by the ‘Cutebot Challenge‘ mini project.
