Our First Team Building With Parents

On Thursday, October 17, the first team building/concert of students, their parents and class teachers of the 11th grade took place. It was attended by 20 students of the 11th grade, Alexi from the 13th grade, Katka, Alejandra, Eunyou from the 10th grade, as well as 22 parent pairs. The event lasted for 1.5 hours and began with all the students introducing themselves and their parents to the guests in turn. The audience greeted everyone with applause and the words “Nice to meet you!”

The concert program began in the school canteen with a Viennese waltz. Student couples whirled to the romantic music of “Once Upon a December”, and parents watched their every move with delight and pride. Here.

   

    

Then Dmytro, from the 11th grade, played two compositions on the guitar. The initiative and responsibility of this wonderful guy surprised me from the first moments of his appearance in our class.

The performance of our rock band consisting of Anna, Lilly, Imre, Sviatoslav and the singer of the song Anastasiia ended with stormy applause.

      

In between performances, parents took part in the quiz “Guess who is hiding behind this symbol”. Before the concert, 11th grade students were given the task of drawing on sheets of paper an object or symbol with which they associate themselves. The parents’ task was to guess the name of the student from the image and give a brief description of his/her personal qualities, talents, interests. 90% of parents and guests successfully completed this task. This indicates that the parents know their children quite well!

   

The second part of the concert took place in the school hall. All those present comfortably settled around our grand piano and three 11th grade students: Adam, Emily, and Imre performed wonderful musical compositions. A storm of applause shook the walls of the school. The soloists were a little stressed, excited and happy that they had succeeded, and that everyone in the hall appreciated each their performance.

   

On this day, it was Alejandra’s birthday. All those present joyfully sang “Happy Birthday to You” to her; Alejandra made a wish and blew out the candle on the cake.

The third and final part of the concert was held in the canteen again. All the students and class teachers danced the Belgian polka – a very positive, emotional and at the same time easy to perform dance. At the end of the dance, all the guests of the event were invited to gather their courage and dance this polka once again together with the students: children and parents, hand in hand. It was an unforgettable sight. Almost 100% of the guests moved in a circle to the rhythm of the dance with delight and inspiration.Here.

 

 

At the end of the event, the class teacher and ALL the students one after another publicly said words of gratitude and love to their loved ones, parents, gave them their hearts, hugged them. The team building ended with taking photos. Everybody received kilograms of adrenaline, positive emotions, joy and many happy moments.

 

I am personally grateful to everyone who came to our event. I am proud of our students, how they overcame their fears, found courage and desire to perform publicly. I am proud of the students’ parents, their desire to help, support, be a part of the lives of their children and the school. When we are all together, we can achieve a lot.
