The House That Kindness Built – A Puppet Show by Year 5

Open House day was a special day for Year 5, as our classroom turned into a little theatre full of laughter, creativity, and teamwork. As part of our Open Day exhibition, students proudly presented their original puppet show titled “The House That Kindness Built.”

From the moment the puppet show door opened, everyone could feel the excitement in the air. Our talented students brought to life all the continents Asia, Africa, Europe, America, Australia, and Antarctica each with its own personality, humour, and message. Together, they discovered that even though they are all different, they can build something truly wonderful when they work as a team.

The story was both funny and meaningful filled with clever dialogue, creative continent puppets, and moments that made everyone smile. Parents and visitors watched as the continents learned that kindness, cooperation, and teamwork are what make any house and any classroom strong.

Our Year 5 students also performed their puppet show for other classes across the school. They wanted to share the same beautiful message of kindness and teamwork with younger students to remind everyone that when we help, listen, and work together, we make our world a better place.

The puppet show wasn’t just a performance, it was a celebration of our students’ creativity, confidence, and collaboration. Every puppet, line, and laugh was a reminder that learning can be expressive, joyful, and full of heart.

The performance was closely connected to our Central Idea from the IB Programme. Year 5 truly showed that when we build with kindness, we build something that lasts.
