Exhibition Day: What Can you do with a Box?

Why, build a castle, of course!

In late September, the Year 1 class stumbled upon two tall, empty boxes on their way back from lunch. After reading a few books for inspiration, we brainstormed ideas for what we could create with the boxes. We listed all the possibilities and took a vote. The winning idea was a castle, and so began our classroom’s exciting transformation!

After painting the castle, we dove into more books to learn about castles and get ideas for special touches. Soon, we were busy crafting dragons, crowns, flags, and even a coat of arms!

As you can see from the photos, the castle was a huge hit with the children and quickly became a favorite part of our classroom.
