MYP1/Gr6 mini city building

One of the units in MYP1/Gr 6 is city building. The students are divided into groups, and each group creates a small city/town. They can give it a theme, they can agree with other groups that they will be neighbouring towns complimenting eachother, or they can be completely stand alone. If a student is not comfortable working in a group, he or she can work alone on a smaller scale. This unit is great for learning a wide variety of skills, and techniques, such as working with a gluegun, clay, cardboard, paint, and more. These towns are often whimsical, and students enjoy seeing their creations come to life.

One of the towns features a clay fountain as its main square.
