Stained glass unit

This was the first time we had a stained glass unit at EISB. The MYP5/Gr10 class had a challenging task of learning this demanding, but beautiful medium. The one thing that is absolutely important while working with glass, is safety. Each student was equipped with a pair of glowes, and glasses. After learning the basics of scoring and breaking glass, taping, and soldering, each student had the opportunity to create an original stained glass piece as a part of their final assessment.

In the end, the unit was succesful, and the students gained not only a new valuable skill, but also appreciation for stained glass windows that can be seen for example in churches.
