Ready, Steady… Research Skills!

Transitioning from primary to secondary school always seems challenging, especially at the beginning of the academic year. Students meet new expectations, policies, new subjects are introduced with occasionally unknown styles of studying. At EISB there is particular emphasis on fostering research skills. Acquiring them is not only fundamental in education; they will enable students to navigate the complexities of their future work life with confidence and –in general- achieve better results. Acquiring research skills are also important in any forms of art: students can find support in theory for their practical tasks, gain experience and develop expertise, even if they had no prior knowledge about a topic.

In MYP 1 Drama students had to work independently while carrying out a research about the four basic elements of performing (facial expressions, gesture, movement and voice). Amazing and knowledgeable presentations and descriptions came to life.
