Student Highlight: Sviatoslav (MYP 3)

In this blog post I would like to highlight some of the excellent work that Sviatoslav (MYP 3) has created for his Individuals & Societies class.

Sviatoslav goes above and beyond the project expectations and always chooses topics that are personally interesting yet unfamiliar to him. That is, he likes to choose topics to research that he doesn’t already know a lot about. This has led him to focus his projects on regions of the world outside of Europe. Recently, he has taken an interest in East Asian cultures, such as South Korea and Japan.

Below are two pieces of Sviatoslav’s work. The first is a highly impressive short documentary that Sviatoslav made about South Korean culture. I was astounded at the quality of work for a student at this age. The information in the video is based on his own research as well as an interview he conducted with a teacher who is from (and living in) South Korea. The second piece of work highlighted here is an infographic he made demonstrating his knowledge and understanding of Japanese population dynamics. Keep up the superb work, Sviatoslav!
