Stefanicka competes at Dubai Endurocross Championship

Filip Stefanicka, father of EISB’s Elly and Emmy (Year 6), has recently competed in the international motorcross  Dubai Endurocross Championship.

Filip has been involved in motorsport since his early youth. Exactly 20 years ago, his friends, Karol Kokoška, Martin Bilčík, Jano Gavorník and Tomáš Rajek, convinced him to go with them to a motocross race in central Slovakia, Nitrianske Rudno. At the first training, he fell in love with this sport. After early success, he decided to join Countrycross and Enduro inMmotocross, which runs under the banner of the Slovak Motorcycle Federation – SMF.

Pushing boundaries, he recently joined one of the most dangerous races in his career, the Dubai Endurocross Championship, a series of races in the sandy desserts of the UAE that are so demanding and treacherous that riders must have pre-paid coffins and transfers to their countries of origin, for the worst case scenario.

The race started at 5.30 am on 21/10/21 lined up with other international athletes ready to traverse a track of sand and dunes which led through the desert. As with most extreme sports, simply completing the race is a huge success, and therefore Filip, as he has shown throughout his Motorcross career, was successful.

He is now preparing to push his next limit which is the Dakar Rally, the most physically and mentally difficult motorsport competition, which is run in Saudi Arabia.  His faithful friends who have introduced him to this sport will surely be prepared to be a strong team support for him.

We wish him much success.
