Crafting Club: Bringing Nature onto Paper ๐ฑ
At our two most recent Crafting Club sessions, we enjoyed the beautiful weather and brought nature onto paper.
In the first activity, we created a tree artwork. The tree crown was made from plasticine, which allowed us to press in pieces of crepe paper. This gave the trees a more three-dimensional look, making them feel almost alive on the page rather than flat drawings.

I asked the girls which picture was better. Here is their answer ๐
In the second activity, we drew a vase on cardboard and carefully made small holes using a sharp pencil for the flowers. After that, we headed outside. In a nearby park, the children picked their own wildflower bouquets.
Perhaps in that moment, it was not even about the final product, but rather about the quiet experience of observing, searching, and choosing the right flowers, as well as spending time outdoors.
I did feel a little sad that the flowers in the vase would eventually wilt. However, the next day one of the students told me something that stayed with me: that she could simply pick new flowers for her vase again.
Nature is not something static that we โloseโ, but something we can return to and experience again and again in different ways.๐ฑ
