Year 7 School Trip to the Technisches Museum Wien

Year 7 class visited the Technisches Museum Wien for a day of learning beyond the classroom. We explored all three floors, taking time to move through exhibitions that link technology, history, industry, and everyday life. The visit connected well with our Humanities focus on how innovation shapes societies and influences the way people live and work.

Students were fully engaged throughout the day. The interactive nature of the museum allowed them to test ideas, observe systems in action, and make practical connections to topics we have discussed in class. Instead of reading about development and progress, they could see and experience it directly.

Several meaningful discussions emerged naturally as students compared past technologies with present-day realities.

The trip also reflected EISB’s Approaches to Learning. Students collaborated in small groups, asked relevant questions, and applied prior knowledge in a new setting. They showed independence in navigating the space and responsibility in representing the school positively.

By the end of the day, students were tired but genuinely satisfied. Many expressed interest in similar trips in the future. Experiences like this reinforce the value of stepping outside the classroom and seeing how knowledge connects to the wider world.

We are grateful to Ms Amy, our school counsellor, for her support during the visit. Her help contributed to a well-organized and smooth experience for everyone.
