Math Labs: Building Confidence and Strengthening Skills

At EISB we are committed to providing every student with the opportunity to thrive in mathematics. That’s why, every Tuesday afternoon at 2:15 pm, I’m excited to host my weekly Math Lab—a dedicated time for Academy students to receive extra support, build their strengths, and grow more confident in math.

Math is a subject that often comes with mixed emotions. For some students, it can feel like a challenging puzzle that doesn’t always fit together, while for others, it’s a thrilling problem-solving adventure. Wherever a student may be on their math journey, the Math Lab is designed to support everyone.

Math Labs offer a unique space where students can:

• Receive personalized help: For those who need a bit of extra support, the Math Lab provides focused, one-on-one assistance.
• Enhance their strengths: Some students are looking to push their math skills even further. The Math Lab gives them the chance to explore more advanced problems, take on additional challenges, and sharpen their abilities in a supportive environment.
• Boost their confidence: By working through difficulties and seeing their own progress, students start to feel more comfortable and confident with math.

I’m thrilled to share that several middle school students have already been taking advantage of the Math Lab, and I’ve seen wonderful progress in just a few weeks. These students are not only improving their understanding of math, but they are also gaining valuable problem-solving skills and building up their self-confidence.

I encourage all Academy students to come by and take advantage of this supportive, fun, and enriching space. Together, we can make math an enjoyable and empowering part of your education.
