Stories From Around the World! ITALIAN/FRENCH EDITION

To finish off our final European stories, we sailed the vessels of our imagination to France and Italy.

The French tale, Sleeping Beauty, had a surprising twist to the end, one which I didn’t know before researching it. Did you know the prince’s mum was an ogre who wanted to eat Beauty and her 2 children? Luckily, a kind cook fed her animals instead. In the end, the ogre queen jumped into a pit of venomous snakes. The End.

For our next story, Danny kindly provided us with some realia – his very own wooden Pinocchio!

You can see Italy’s very own 16 metre tall Pinocchio in Collodi (kind of in between Pisa and Florence).
