EISB Fashion Show

Spread the love

In the design classroom, creativity didn’t stay on paper for long. Students recently transformed ideas into real clothing pieces, demonstrating not only artistic vision but also impressive resourcefulness. Working with limited materials and tight timelines, they learned to adapt, problem-solve, and turn simple concepts into wearable designs that reflected their individuality.

What stood out most was how hands-on the process became. Students experimented with fabrics, repurposed materials, and tested construction techniques that pushed them to think like real designers. Every stitch, cut, and adjustment carried evidence of decision-making and persistence. The classroom quickly evolved into a workshop where imagination met practicality.

The project culminated in something even more ambitious: a runway fashion show.

This project went beyond simply showcasing finished clothing. Students took on the roles of both designers and models, thinking carefully about storytelling, presentation, and performance. They experienced firsthand the energy, pressure, and coordination required to bring a live runway event to life.

The runway itself became a dynamic learning space, filled with music, movement, and constant activity behind the scenes. Students dealt with real-time challenges such as last-minute adjustments, outfit changes, and tight coordination, gaining valuable insight into the demands of organising a live fashion show.

Throughout the process, Ms. Merna played a central role in guiding and supporting the students. Her balance of structure and creative freedom helped turn ideas into a successful event. More than just a fashion show, the experience built creativity, teamwork, resilience, and a deeper understanding of what it takes to transform a vision into reality.
