🍀 Celebrating Saint Patrick’s Day in Our EAL Classroom 🍀

Even though Saint Patrick’s Day has already passed, we wanted to bring back some lovely memories in our EAL classroom. All students watched a short video about Saint Patrick—who he was, where he was born, and what happened to him. We also explored which countries celebrate this special day and why it is so important in Irish culture.

The children were especially excited to learn about the small Irish fairy, the bearded Leprechaun, and why he is part of Irish tales. They had so much fun watching a story showing how tricky he can be, but also how he teaches greedy people an important lesson. We discovered that a Leprechaun hides his pot of gold at the end of the rainbow—and believe it or not, our Year 1 and Year 2 students even managed to find some!

Older students worked on various text-based activities such as comprehension tasks, crosswords, and riddles. They also created a summary of the entire day and showed great understanding by answering many questions. It was a fun and engaging way to celebrate and remember this special day together.
