Year 8 Basics of painting unit

The year 8 class experiences the basics of painting unit every year. During this unit, students learn about basic color theory, color mixing, different painting techniques both with watercolors an acrylics, and more. There’s also a lot of studying of artworks of other artists, so the students have an opportunity to experiment with art styles such as pointilism.

This is from our Year 8 pop art unit, where the students were free to chose their color palettes, and I’d say the basics of painting unit definitely helped them in their aesthetic choices.
