Bringing Stories to Life: Book Week

As a Slovak language teacher at the primary, I am very happy to see how much our Year 4 students enjoyed their compulsory reading Babka Gaunerka during the first term. This fun and exciting story stayed with them for several weeks and often became a topic of our classroom discussions.

Today, during Book Week, Linda a Roxy brought a story to life in a truly creative way. Linda and Roxy dressed up as the main characters – Babka and Ben. Their costumes were fantastic and brought smiles to everyone’s faces. They won first place in the Upper Primary category for Best Costume.

Moments like this remind me why reading is so important. When children not only read a story but truly experience it and bring it into real life, I know we are on the right path.
