๐ŸŽ Fruitful Learning: Our Journey to Healthy Choices.

Today, our Grade 2 learners enjoyed a fruit salad party as part of our inquiry into healthy food and balanced lifestyles.

The classroom was filled with excitement as students explored a variety of colorful fruits: apples, plums, blueberries, kiwi, grapes, peaches, lemons, and strawberries. Together, we cut, mixed, and prepared a delicious fruit salad that we later enjoyed as a class community.

๐ŸŒฑ Learning Connections

This activity wasnโ€™t just about eatingโ€”it was a chance to:

  • Inquire into healthy choices: Students discussed why fruits are important and what nutrients they provide.

  • Build research skills: They asked questions like โ€œWhich fruit makes us feel fresh and strong?โ€

  • Work collaboratively: Each child observed, participated in discussions, and shared their ideas while preparing the salad.

  • Reflect on learning: After tasting, students shared their thoughts:

    • โ€œI liked kiwi because it helps me stay strong.โ€

    • โ€œI will eat more apples because they give me energy.โ€

    • โ€œI liked blueberries because they help my brain and memory.โ€

    • โ€œI liked plums because they are good for the skin.โ€

๐ŸŒŸ IB Learner Profile in Action
