Building Bridges Through Learning: A Special Visit from Lublin

This past week, EISB had the pleasure of welcoming four visiting educators from Paderewski Private School in Lublin, Poland—an IB World School offering the PYP, MYP, and DP programmes. Their visit was part of an Erasmus-funded professional development initiative focused on exploring how different IB schools implement the programme framework, particularly when integrated with project-based learning.

During their week-long stay, the teachers shadowed various classes across our PYP and MYP sections, engaging closely with both students and faculty. Their aim was to gain deeper insight into how we combine the IB approach with real-world, inquiry-driven learning experiences.

Throughout their visit, our guests consistently remarked on the strong student agency evident in our classrooms. They were impressed by the independence our learners show, as well as the communication, collaboration, and critical thinking skills that are clearly being nurtured across grade levels. It was encouraging to see our students’ confidence and curiosity shine through in ways that reflect the best of what IB and project-based learning can achieve together.

As a thoughtful gesture, the visiting team brought us beautiful gifts from their hometown of Lublin, which were warmly received by our community. Even more exciting, we’ve been invited to visit their school in return—an opportunity we are genuinely looking forward to as we continue this meaningful exchange of ideas and best practices.

At EISB, we believe that professional collaboration across schools and borders enriches everyone involved. This visit reminded us that we’re part of a global learning community, united by a shared commitment to nurturing young people who are ready to engage with and contribute to the world.
