#TBT: Ski Week Memories
Even though it has been two months since the Ski Week already, so much has been going on that I almost forgot to post about it! Well, let’s have a little #ThrowbackTuesday then.
On the very first day, after arriving to the Tatra mountains, the students had a chance to try out dog sledding! A typical winter sport in the Nordic countries indeed, but did you know these huskies are also European Dog Sledding Champions for multitude of years? And – what is most important – they seem to enjoy every moment at work with great enthusiasm!

On the second day, we started skiing. The weather was absolutely gorgeous and we had so much fun and adrenaline! We split into three groups: For the Beginners Group it was an important day. They had to learn how to stand on skis and how not to fall. It proved to be a relative challenge but by the end of the week, all the beginners already skied on the big slope full of healthy confidence!
As for the Intermediate and Advanced groups, they all worked hard as well, along with their professional ski instructors – getting better at carving, synchronized skiing, trying out new types of skis or a snowboard and skiing backwards. There is always something even a professional can work on!
Apart from skiing for the greater part of the day, we had plenty of fun around the ranch where we lived. Ponies, cats, bunnies or birds – even in cold winter evenings they were eager to make new friends and eat an apple or two from student’s hands.
Undoubtedly, not only did the students learn to ski or improve their skiing skills, but we also managed to create so many lasting memories. Such as when we tried to go on a hike to the local waterfalls – and lost our way! And that teaches us all that the most important part of the journey is the fun we have along!
