Celebrating Ethiopian New Year: A Cultural Experience

On the 4th of October, we had the privilege of celebrating the Ethiopian New Year at our school, an event filled with cultural pride and learning. The day was made even more special by the presence of the Ethiopian Consulate, who honored us with his attendance.

His insightful words not only brought the spirit of celebration but also enriched our understanding of Ethiopia’s rich heritage.

A highlight of the occasion was the consulate’s sharing of the history of Ethiopian coffee, tracing its roots to Ethiopia’s ancient traditions. We learned about the importance of coffee in Ethiopian culture, not just as a beverage but as a symbol of hospitality and community.

It was a meaningful and festive day, bringing our school community together to appreciate Ethiopian culture and its global contributions.
