Exploring Japan in German: Y6 Student project

At our school, we recently had an exciting project with our Year 6 class where we combined language learning with cultural exploration. The students were studying the names of countries in German, and each of them had the opportunity to choose a preferred country to present to the class. While creating a presentation in German posed a challenge for our primary-level German learners, they embraced it with enthusiasm and did an exceptional job.

We focused on practicing the pronunciation of complex words, trying to articulate larger numbers (such as population figures), and accurately stating dates and years. This exercise not only enhanced their German language skills but also broadened their global awareness.

One student, Janko Nosko, chose Japan for his presentation. I am delighted to share Janko’s presentation with you. His effort and dedication to learning about Japan and presenting his findings in German were truly impressive.
