You have surprised me many times
The graduation has passed, a significant event for both graduates and their parents and of course for us, teachers. Strong emotions and feelings filled our students that evening at Vaynorskaya. It was visible on their faces when they entered the hall one after another to the music and applause of those present. Twelve years of study remained behind them. Twelve years of effort, joy, experiences and achievements.
This year, 8 of the graduates attended my biology and anatomy classes, making them lively, bright, effective. Each student is an individual with their own specific and unique features. In our classes, the learning process was two-way, each of us learned something new: understanding the subject, developing various skills, the ability to communicate and express the thoughts, defend the point of view. The bright personalities of the students will remain in my memory as bright memories.
Of all the students, I have known Sam the longest, a positive person with many obvious and hidden talents. When at the end of the 11th grade he said that he was choosing the Biology HL, I was very surprised and a little worried. However, Sam has shown himself to be the best over the past two years. His ability to think outside the box and find answers to complex biological questions using logic has often surprised and delighted me.
I have known Ema, Mehrad, Yutong, Dea for three years. They came to our school almost at the same time and, like Sam, chose biology.
Dea and Yutong are two creative individuals. Biology has never been an important subject for them, but the students courageously and patiently, sometimes under stress and in tears, sometimes with eyes shining with joy, studied the basics of this subject. They very often asked questions that started a discussion in class and boldly expressed their point of view, their vision of the problem.
Today, Ema is a silver medalist of the international Genius Olympiad, held in New York. This girl has always surprised me with her persistence in striving to deeply understand the subject, learn to think logically, skillfully analyze data presented in different forms. Ema is a fighter, confidently moving towards her goal, fighting emotions, stress; daily proving to herself and others her knowledge and understanding of the subject.
Mehrad is a bright personality, self-confident, emotional, open to cooperation and everything new. His ability to motivate himself, self-discipline, interest in gaining deep knowledge, high respect for parents, desire to help classmates in studying complex biological issues made me feel a constant sense of pride for him.
Natalia, Laura, Lilly – three American Academy students, my companions in studying human anatomy this academic year.
Natalia is an extraordinary personality, bright and strong. She was the generator of many interesting ideas and projects. Her developed critical thinking, awareness, desire to make the world a better and brighter place, created an atmosphere of creative inspiration in our lessons.
Laura is an intellectual, the computer center of this trio of girls. Her erudition, deep understanding of the subject, desire to know more, created an atmosphere of scientific research in our classes.
Lilly ended up in our group by some miracle. And although anatomy was not an important subject for her, Lilly found motivation to study this subject and be an interesting conversationalist when discussing problematic issues and an active participant in the implementation of projects.
Dear students, graduates, I am grateful to you for your appearance in my life. Each of you had a positive impact on my personal development, taught me something new in relationships, in the perception of the world. I believe in each of you, in your talent. You just have to make the right choice, and I am sure you will make it.
