Pirates Ahoy! X Marks the Spot – Year 3 treasure maps

Year 3 students have been on a treasure hunt, creating treasure maps for their message-in-a-bottle craft. They included dangers like monsters and volcanoes, as well as challenges like Find-The-Key and enemy combat. They also strengthened their physical geographical skills by focusing on natural features like waterfalls and different types of terrain.

We dipped these maps in coffee (messy, but fun!) and burned the edges to make it look worn and old (adults only!)

We rolled up these treasure maps and put them in glass bottles with some “precious” jewels and “gold” coins. The students’ creations are a testament to their ingenuity and resourcefulness, and it’s amazing to see how they’ve used their creativity to bring their ideas to life.
