Try the daily Wordle!
If you haven’t already heard of it, Wordle is a fun online puzzle game that is great for building English vocabulary skills.
There is a new mystery word everyday (only one per day) that you must guess. Because there is only one mystery word each day that is the same for everyone, you can compare your results with others to make it more fun, engaging, and competitive.
For younger kids, you (parents) can try to do the Wordle together with them. For older kids, you (parents) can challenge them and see who can guess the mystery word in the least number of tries!
Here is how to play, from the Wordle website:
Wordle paved the way for many other fun variations of the same game! Now, not only can you build your English skills, but you can also build your geography skills and more.
Here are a few of my favourite Wordle variations for learning more about the world:
Globle –> “Every day, there is a new Mystery Country. Your goal is to guess the mystery country using the fewest number of guesses. Each incorrect guess will appear on the globe with a colour indicating how close it is to the Mystery Country. The hotter the colour, the closer you are to the answer.”
Worldle –> “Guess the Worldle in 6 guesses [by looking at its shape/outline] .Each guess must be a valid country, territory, …After each guess, you will have the distance, the direction and the proximity from your guess and the target country.”
Flagle –> “Guess the flag in 6 guesses or less! Each time you make a guess it will reveal another portion of the flag and give you a geographical hint.”
Have fun learning ๐
