Fabulous Fractions
For the past few weeks, Year 2 have been having a wonderful time learning about fractions. At first, fractions seemed a little intimidating to us. But after we learned a simple trick and did a few hands on activities, we mastered finding fractions of numbers in no time! And it was so much fun!
We can now easily find one half to one tenth of a number! Just ask us 🙂 The trick is to share the amount nicely and equally between the denominator. We’ve shared rockets on moons, candy between children, frogs on lily pads and counters and dots in circles. We are now experts!
We’ve been enjoying it so much that we’ve been asking for challenges beyond the Year 2 curriculum. We absolutely love Maths and love challenges!
