Responsible electricity

Year 3 have been learning about being responsible and the concept of electricity. During the last two weeks they have decided to merge these two concepts and research different forms of renewable energy that can be used to generate electricity. We started off by deconstructing a lamp to see what components were necessary in order for a lightbulb to turn on. Students then had opportunities to try out different types of circuits to see how the connections were made.

In groups they researched and presented about a renewable energy source and then set out to make a prototype which would allow them to generate electricity using this source.

We are currently in the process of testing the first prototypes. Read the next year 3 classroom blog for updates. See you soon!
